Help, Healing & Hope
for Women & Familes in Crisis
The Lord has been faithful through our journey
In Joshua 1:14, the Lord asks those who have already received their inheritance to go and fight the enemies in the land until the ones who have not have received their inheritance have taken possession of the land He intends to give them. This is our calling. Those of us who have been snatched from the grip of the enemy are compelled to fight for those who do not know who God created them to be and the great, good fortune that awaits them as beloved daughters in the Kingdom of God.
The Lord's Space
In May 2016, with a fraction of the cost of the building and a vision for what the Lord wanted to do, a building was purchased in downtown Wells. After many prayers and many volunteer hours a transformation has taken place. We now have a warm, welcoming, and safe place for women in crisis.
The Lillie House
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the Lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." Matthew 5:28-29
The Lily House was part of our Phase 1 housing project. It is a small loft with two beds. It is an emergency place for women to stay for up to three days before they can be placed into transitional housing.
The Dandelion House
The Dandelion House is part of our Phase 2 housing project. This is an apartment style safe housing. This is space opened up January 2021. Dandelion House was inspired by Job 8:7, "Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be."
When the Dandelion's life ends it wilts and it's petals curl up, but in the darkest moments there is hope. The Dandelion dies to itself and in it's dying, the puff of white that emerges spreads its seeds, becoming more prosperous than before.
The Five Daughters of Zelophehad
In Numbers 27, a man named Zelophehad had five daughters and no sons. These daughters were born at a time when the worth of a woman was determined by the value of her dowry. By law, daughters were not entitled to an inheritance so when their father died, they faced a frightening future. No father to protect them. No husband to support them. No inheritance to provide for them. Talk about women in crisis.
But these women did not despair.
Together, they presented their case to the entire assembly of men, who in turn, took their request directly to the Lord. And the Lord declared a radical, permanent change to the law, securing the inheritance of his precious daughters.
At the Five Sisters Project, we believe each woman has a spiritual inheritance to claim. When the world says you are worthless, the Lord says you are His precious daughter.
