Administrative Lead- Position Description

The Five Sisters Project seeks to hire a part-time administrative lead for Five Sisters Project office. This is a new administrative position, responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing the administrative function of the office.

About Five Sisters Project

Five Sisters Project was established in 2016 as a 501©(3) faith-based nonprofit corporation. The mission is to provide help, healing, and hope to women in crisis. We offer emergency and transitional safe housing for women fleeing domestic violence or housing instability or homelessness due to past domestic violence. We offer resources, referrals, and spiritual coaching for women affected by abusive relationships, unplanned pregnancy, difficulty overcoming loss, unsafe living conditions, or difficulty providing for the family.

Job Role Functions and Responsibilities

The administrative lead’s overall function is to manage the administrative activities of the office in a proficient and timely manner: maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the office and effectively integrating volunteers. The main areas of responsibility are listed below.

·          Organize and maintain administrative systems, office records, and files

·          Coordinate office access and security

·          Maintain a clean, orderly and well-stocked office

·          Assist director with simple bookkeeping tasks (deposits and expense tracking)

·          Answer phone and keep track of voicemails and emails

·          Send out donation thank you letters

·          Communicate with donations coordinator when donations are dropped off

·          Communicate with and effectively integrate volunteers

·          Assist executive director with keeping the website up to date, preparing flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials, planning community events, create social media and email content

·          Keep donor and contact database up to date

Desired Qualifications:

·          Successful experience in an administrative position

·          Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

·          Proficient with general office technology and comfortable learning new technology with little guidance

·          Enthusiasm for helping others, learning, and improving organizational systems and processes

·          Commitment to advancing the mission of the Five Sisters Project

Time Commitment:

·          10-15 hours per week with the possibility of additional time


·          The position reports to the executive director

Salary and benefits

·          Compensation is $10-13 depending on experience

·          Flexible schedule
